The Cuyahoga County Board of Health is once again partnering with the YMCA of Greater Cleveland to bring you the fourth annual Run For Your Life 5k run and 1 mile family fun walk. The event is designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and proceeds will benefit programs promoting healthy lifestyles in children. The CCBH and YMCA have a common mission in promoting increased physical fitness and healthier lifestyles. With increases in childhood obesity our agencies are committed to making a positive impact on the Greater Cleveland Community.The race will once again start and finish at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. Childrens games and family activities focused on physical fitness will be conducted throughout the morning. There will be door prizes and awards to participants including a gold medal to all child participants.

Awards will be given out to the top 3 overall runners as well as the top 3 runners in each age group. The age groups will be divided as such:

14 and under

15-19

20-24

25-29

30-34

35-39

40-44

45-49

50-54

55-59

60-64

65 and over

Course Map

For everyone that ran for their lives last year, the course will once again remain the same with it’s start and finish located at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. For those that will be participating for the first time this year a downloadable map is found below. Also, the course map paired with the Ultimate 5k training plan will be a great way to get a leg up on the competition.

The 5-K is a great distance for every level of runner. It’s a fail safe short for first timers and an ideal fast time trial, tough tempo run, or 10-K to marathon tune up for veteran competitors.
